What will I do in the weekly recitation sections?
You will meet the recitation instructor in smaller groups (20-25) and get help  with any difficult problem you may have come across from the homework that was due that week based on previous week's work. You Recitation Instructor (RI) may also give you a quizz based on that work. He/She has the descretion of giving you a grade based on your activities in the sections and your interaction with him/her associated with this course.

It is highly recommended that you do NOT miss recitation sessions. The idea behind them is to allow you to be in a "small-class" surrounding and get more personal attention than is possible in a lecture with 300+ students. Of course it helps to get all quizzs covered by good attendance.

How do the Lab Sections (Physics 133) Work?
You will read and try to understand the method of each week's laboratory experiment. The writeup of each experiment is linked from the Schedule WebPage. It is absolutely critical that you come prepared: that you have read the method before you come to the Laboratory Section. Your Lab Instructors will explain some of the final details of the experimental method and give you two hours to perform the experiments. There is typically one session every week. You will write a report and submit it to your Laboratory Instructor with 48 hours of your Lab session. The submission should be made in the Physics A-131 room, in the assigned Lab-Submission Boxes. Your Laboratory Section number and the name of your Lab Instructor will appear on the boxes. Please do not put your lab reports in the wrong boxes.

Missed laboratory sessions are very serious issue. Laboratory Setups change every week and are used by more than one course. Unless there is an severe emergency, do not miss the lab sections. Please bring a doctor's note of equivalent for medical emergencies.  Missing two or more Labs means an AUTOMATIC "F" in Physics 131 AND Physics 133. There are some weeks in the sessions where you will be allowed to do MAKE-UPS, but that is only for very good reasons and with prior permission from me.
